Success Stories

"I came here as a brat, ungrateful and disrespectful person. I would always make fun of everyone, put everyone down, and start fights all the time. I was very confused with a lot of things, like mostly with myself. I was also lazy and wouldn’t want to help anyone. And I was very, very irresponsible.

"Now I’m very grateful, I would never think of being a brat, I’m also very respectful towards my family, especially towards my mom because I love her a lot. I have no urge to make fun of people or put anyone down. I feel like I could treat everyone well and have love for them almost as much as my real family. I’m more a friendly person now and don’t like to fight anymore, unless there’s a very good reason. I’m not feeling confused with myself anymore. I’m feeling very concentrated and direct. I have matured a lot and I don’t feel like a little kid anymore.

"I’m comfortable with how I look which I like a lot. I’m very confident now. I feel like I could go to any school and get to know everybody. I found out the true meaning of work and responsibility. If I had a job that could pay off my whole families living I would be able to do it because I’m not lazy anymore. I also like to talk to people more and just be friendly to people. That’s a better way of living.

"Only Mojave Academy could have fixed me to be a happy person. I’m grateful for your help to make me better and I couldn’t have done it without you!"

"When Jeremy came out of a private school in academic year 98/99 he was in 2nd grade and reading at 4th grade level. I home schooled him the next year, then put him in public school the year after that. At this time he was put in 4th grade. We had trouble within weeks, mostly with not wanting to do the work. He was still a very good reader and read quite a bit. Then, in 01/02, less than one quarter of the way through 5th grade he suddenly couldn't read anymore. Let me describe this situation to you. He couldn't read anymore because he was suddenly a sort of dyslexic, i.e. he was switching letters around in the words, he was adding letters that weren't in the words and he was leaving letters out. Quite obviously he couldn't understand what he was reading as he'd never heard the words he was coming up with!

"Frankly I realized that this could be devastating. If he couldn't read he wouldn't be able to learn much else in life. If he could read he had the world at his disposal. So I started defining words on him. He would use MILLIONS of sentences, draw pictures as well as demonstrate the definitions for me. No kidding, 30 minutes later he would have no clue what the word meant again. So I panicked and hired a tutor for Jeremy. This turned out to be only a little better than a waste of time.

"When I got the Summer Program flyer back in May I got really excited about the prospect that I could send Jeremy to the Mojave Academy and maybe get him 'fixed'. Jeremy went out for the full two-month summer program and he asked (begged) me to allow him to go back to finish his program.

"He came home on October 11. Hear this and hear this well...this Jeremy can READ again! He not only correctly pronounces the words, he has a much larger vocabulary AND he no longer has any of the signs of 'dyslexia' at all. If Jeremy can read - he can learn and do anything in life!

"Thank you all for all your hard work! This boy can read again!"

"I will never forget Mojave Academy because it is the place where my whole life changed, changed for the good. I used to be considered a Juvenile Delinquent, but not any more.

"Since I came home people keep telling me how good I looked and that I was just shining. My parents are really proud of me for all that I have accomplished there.

"I'm glad to have gained so much from my experiences there and I feel much better about my self and what I'm doing. Mojave is where I learned what it really meant to have a job and be responsible. I held the cook position for 7 months. Also I learned the true meaning of family and friends because at Mojave we were all family and we all pitch in and contribute to make our school a better place.

"There's no place like Mojave Academy on earth and I love it."

"Brad was going to one of the public schools that people move into the neighborhood just to send their kids there. But it wasn't giving him an education. Brad has always wanted to be an inventor; he likes to experiment and kick data around. The school was only set up to give out unqualified data and have the kids regurgitate it.

"We checked into a lot of schools and in the end it was Brad who insisted that he go to the Mojave Academy. There he has been allowed to go at his own pace and, as a result, has become expert in several fields. He's 15 right now and he would be eligible for the majority of the universities in the U.S.

"Brad has put together his own list of goals and purposes inventor as a hobby and computers as a career. He has already advanced in computers to a post-graduate level. He reads computer language books for fun and knows four different computer languages; that's one more than is normally taught at college level. He has written several programs and has been paid for some, as well as writing magazine articles.

"The Mojave Academy gave him an environment where he would not be stopped but encouraged in his abilities, using L. Ron Hubbard's study and educational technology. It has allowed him to develop his potential as a genius."
