Life Basics™ Frequently Asked Questions
Life Basics is created entirely using the technology developed by L. Ron Hubbard, educator and humanitarian.
What is the purpose of the Life Basics Program?
- To align the basics of life to the student’s purposes and goals.
- To help the child learn and apply the basics needed to live a happy life.
When/why does a kid need this?
The truth is that any life problem (i.e. a problem that can make living difficult) can be handled on Life Basics.
This program was created to give the students tools that they can use in life as they grow up so that they are not finding themselves going in the wrong direction, being pulled off their purpose by peers or making incorrect decisions that harm them.
Children who are taught and drilled on basic tools that they can use in life will find that they are much able to confront and handle problems that arise in their teenage years, and sometimes pre-teen years.
A child could benefit from this program when:
- a child is having difficulty at home.
- a child has difficulties completing cycles of actions.
- a child cannot make friends or keep friends easily.
- a child has difficulties caring for his body (hygiene).
- a child is unhappy in life or unable to make the correct ethical decisions.
- a child does not exchange with his parents or is unwilling to help them.
- a child finds it hard to stick to moral decisions in the face of peer pressure.
What does Life Basics comprise?
First and foremost, a change of environment. The Life Basics program really can achieve the full product when the students are together, helping each other get the points in, seeing the points being applied daily by those who have graduated Life Basics, and being handled by staff who are trained in Mr. Hubbard’s technology on raising and educating children.
The other things done in Life Basics are doing clay demonstrations of and drilling key life points, such as having responsibility, getting along with others, completing cycles of action, willingness to help, etc. It also includes a study of moral codes and then application of these points in life. It also includes communication drills.
How long does this program take?
How long does this program take?
The program is tailor-made for each student. Some programs take as little as two months and some as long as a year. Those students who have the intention to move through the program fast as well as get wins from the program will finish earlier than those who aren’t as dynamic. Truthfully, this program builds dynamic for the child, so they get faster as they go along the program.
What is the end product of Life Basics?
The end product is a child whose:
- Life Basics points are applied in life.
- Own emotional tone has risen and is able to help others do better as well.
- Responsibility has increased.
- The student is not distracted by problems in life and his past, and so can be in the classroom comfortably and is ready to get on with his or her education.
