Mojave Academy is located in Datil, New Mexico which is located at the intersection of U.S. Route 60 and New Mexico State Road 12.

Datil is on the edge of the Cibola National Forest and is close to the Very Large Array, one of the world’s premier astronomical radio observatories which consists of 27 radio antennas.

Datil’s population is 100 people in the town limits. The town is mainly a gas station, motel and restaurant, as well as a post office and Real Estate office. The local community consists of mainly bovine ranches. Datil is 70 miles from the nearest city.

The average temperature in Datil ranges from 32 degrees to 70 degrees over 350 sunny days a year.
